GAMMEX rmi® is a leading manufacturer and distributor of quality
control devices for the medical imaging and laser alignment systems.
GAMMEX was founded in 1969 by Dr. Charles Lescrenier as a manufacturer of
laser alignment devices for use in medical imaging and oncology treatment.
The company was the first to introduce lasers into the radiology
department for use in precision patient alignment.
The acquisition of RMI in
1987 gave the company the ability to expand into the manufacture of
quality control equipment for diagnostic radiology, ultrasound and
mammography. Working closely with medical physicists and university
research departments around the world, GAMMEX rmi® expanded to also provide
more efficient and effective test tools for quality assurance.
GAMMEX rmi® research and development team has patented a number of devices
over the years. These include patents on laser technology, optical chains,
kV detecting devices and diagnostic phantoms. Over 25 patents have been
issued to GAMMEX rmi®.
Building on its strong
technical capabilities, the company has become a leader in the development
of robotic laser alignment systems and Quality Control products used in
diagnostic and therapeutic radiology applications. Its CT Sim system
allows users to position patients for treatment and diagnosis with the
highest levels of precision and to exchange the information automatically
with planning systems from several major suppliers. Its receipt of the
exclusive award from the American College of Radiology (ACR) to produce
the phantom for their CT accreditation program and to produce phantoms for
their mammography accreditation program further demonstrates the
industry-wide recognition the Company has in the development of Quality
Control Phantoms. That reputation is being enhanced by the introduction of
its spiral IMRT phantom that offers the radiation therapy community the
first phantom capable of providing 3 dimensional data.
The Company continues its
commitment to its market by recently introducing a line of immobilization
products in the USA and expanding its laser product line.
